All About Travel

Travel Made Simple

  • Hello and welcome to my first attempt at blogging. I hope that everyone who reads this finds it to be helpful and maybe even entertaining. I have been obsessed with traveling and exploring as much of the US as possible, I have always wanted to travel abroad. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Tokyo, which was awesome, but I will save that for another post.

I want to share a little bit about my background. I have been a professional driver for all of my adult life. I have driven everything from a cab to an expedite truck (sort of like a tractor-trailer but smaller and easier to maneuver). As I have moved from one aspect of the field to another, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience in both the physical driving and the planning of all sorts of journeys. I have learned throughout my years many ways to achieve discounts, upgrades, and rewards based on how I travel, who I use to book my services, and so on. Currently my wife and I own and operate a business called JAAZ Transportation Specialists, LLC. In this business we help people get from one place to another, usually over long distances and usually by driving them. These are people who, for whatever reason, can’t or won’t fly or drive themselves. We also offer alternative relocation services that have been well received by many clients when compared to traditional moving services. One other service that we offer is a travel companion. This is for people who, for various reasons, will fly but are uncomfortable doing so alone. All of these services are offered as “full service”, which is to say we handle all of the arrangements. On a personal level, we have 4 children, all of which are grown now and starting families of their own. From the time our youngest was about 5 until the oldest started college, I have panned and executed family vacations to the White Mountains is Vermont, Myrtle Beach SC, Disney World at least 3 times, DC and Virginia and so on.

With this blog, I am going to share stories from my adventures as a trucker, OSHA testing technician, and business owner. No names will be shared, but the details of the interactions will be. I would also like to open this up for you the reader to participate as well by sharing your own experiences and questions. If I am unable to answer, I will find someone who can.

I am not sure how this will go, or how often I will post, but I am looking to do at least 2-3 per week. I am sure there will be weeks that will have less because I am out on the road with a client, or spending time with my ever growing family, but I will always respond to a post or a question from anyone who takes the time to write to me. I am looking forward to growing a place that we all can share experiences and help each other travel as much as possible. No matter what your interests are, or what your budget may be, there are many places you can go in the US that are absolutely amazing, beautiful, and well worth the trip.

    Talk to you soon,

    Jim
